It was one of those rare, snowy days in London when our phone rang. On the other end was a director from Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward (KFH), an estate agency we’d recently met at a networking event. Their booked photographer was snowed in, and the team was waiting, ready for portraits that morning.
“Any chance you could get to Wimbledon within the hour?” he asked.
Growing up in Minnesota (or Minnesnowta, as we like to call it), snow never stopped us. Within the hour, we were on-site, camera gear unpacked, and portraits underway. That one call turned into a partnership that has lasted more than 15 years.
Our first projects focused on headshots, warm, approachable portraits in office environments. But as new marketing leadership came in, the brief shifted: show people in the neighbourhoods they worked in.
So, if a sales manager was based in Clapham, we found recognisable South London backdrops. For a lettings manager in Central London, we set the scene there. Over time, we shot in more than 20 neighbourhoods, creating a portfolio that was personal, local, and unmistakably KFH.

When the brand later refreshed, the style changed again, brighter, lighter portraits, less about the office and more about the people themselves. We adapted and re-shot everyone from new hires to the CEO.
For years, we’d bump into KFH’s founder, Lee Watts, at company conferences, but his portrait was always postponed. Finally, his marketing manager insisted: it was time.
We joined him at his home in Surrey, chose five different locations, two wardrobe changes, and in under an hour had a set of natural, relaxed portraits he was happy with, despite admitting he usually dreaded being photographed.
This upgrade gave potential guests and event planners a realistic, interactive view of the hotels before they even stepped inside with the aim of increasing engagement, trust, and conversions.

Once the portrait work was established, KFH assigned us to take on their 45+ branch photos. Until then, they’d been a mix of phone snaps, Google Street View grabs, and inconsistent quality. We gave every branch a polished, consistent look.
When the company refreshed its branch interiors, we also created large-scale neighbourhood imagery, panoramic shots of London’s green spaces stitched together to fill entire walls. The branches loved it, and so did their clients.
