When Toy Fair 2021 was cancelled due to COVID-19, Jazwares turned to Mark Weeks Photo & Video to find a fast and effective way to showcase their latest prototypes to retail buyers in just three weeks.

A Race Against Time

With only three weeks to prepare for their virtual sales meetings, we conducted a rapid online strategy session. It was clear that a combination of high-quality still photography, 360° product imagery, and engaging video content would provide the strongest foundation for Jazwares to present their new toy line. Our goal was to create digital assets that could effectively replace the experience of handling physical prototypes while maintaining excitement and buyer engagement.

Bringing the Vision to Life

We established a consistent visual style that reflected Jazwares’ brand identity, ensuring uniformity across all assets. Once the "look" was approved, we launched into full-scale production, working intensively over two weeks—shooting for up to twelve hours a day, followed by late-night editing sessions. The result? Over 500 digital assets, including:

  • High-resolution product photography for retail presentations and marketing materials
  • 360° product images to give buyers a comprehensive view of each toy
  • Short, engaging videos to highlight key features and functions

A Game-Changer for Retail Sales

Jazwares’ retail buyers, accustomed to handling physical prototypes, quickly embraced the new digital approach. Previously, only a limited number of expensive prototypes were available, meaning they had to be shipped between buyers—a slow and logistically complex process. Our digital assets eliminated these bottlenecks, giving retailers worldwide instant access to product visuals and allowing them to make informed purchasing decisions in real time.

This shift in approach contributed to a 15% year-on-year increase in retail listings for Jazwares' Autumn/Winter 2021 range. The success of this project also influenced Jazwares’ long-term strategy, reinforcing the value of digital assets as a key tool in their sales and marketing process.

A Lasting Partnership

Following the success of the Toy Fair project, Jazwares engaged Mark Weeks Photo & Video for another high-profile assignment—the launch of their Star Wars toy line at Star Wars Celebration Europe at the ExCeL Centre in London. Our team was tasked with capturing both event photography and a dynamic sizzle video, bringing the excitement of the convention to life. The final video, packed with high-energy moments and fan interactions, left a lasting impression on Jazwares’ executive team.
